Employee benefits
Salary - A prime objective of SCD is to maintain the lowest possible corporate overhead, enabling us to pass to the employee the majority of the “fruits of their labor.” Salaries are negotiated at the time of hire in a closed-door session between the candidate and one member of the management. After the first year and on every subsequent anniversary, an automatic review is in place for pay increases.
401(k) - SCD wants to help each employee achieve long-term financial goals by providing a 401(k) Savings Plan. The plan is managed by an outside firm and is controlled completely by the employee. The investment firm is on retainer to assist SCD employees with their investments. Effective immediately upon employment, employees can contribute to the 401(k) plan. Matching contributions will begin after two years of service with full vestment occurring after a total of 7 years of service.
Health Insurance - SCD pays 100% of your health insurance for your immediate family. We take pride in making sure our employees are happy, safe and healthy.

Annual Pay Increases - We want you to know that as we grow as a company, your compensation will grow. We view all our employees as an important part of the growth and expansion of our company. Salaries are evaluated yearly.
Disability - All SCD employees are provided at no expense, Short and Long Term Disability Insurance, Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment Coverage.
Paid Time Off - SCD provides 8 hours of holiday leave for each of the federal holidays listed below. The time is in addition to annual leave.

In addition, SCD offers a combined paid leave for vacation and sick time. Paid leave is non-cumulative and resets October 1 of each year. Employees are not compensated for leave not used. Paid leave is negotiated during the employment contract negotiation.
Education Benefits - Education reimbursement benefits are provided if they relate to the employee’s career field after 1 year of service, unless the class is immediately needed for your position. A waiver can be granted by any member of management. Reimbursement is based upon the final grade reported by the institution. A grade of A or PASS is paid 100%, a grade of B or SATISFACTORY is paid 80%, a grade of C is paid 60% and anything less becomes the responsibility of the employee.
SCD does not discriminate between degree-seeking classes and certification courses – all are paid equally. All reference materials are also paid for by SCD. Reimbursement benefits are limited to 2 courses a semester.
After completion of the class, employees are required to continue in employment with SCD for a minimum of 1 year. If for any reason employment is terminated before 6 months from the end of class, the employee must reimburse SCD in full for the cost of the class(es) taken.
